Episcopalians across the country know about the “EYC". The Episcopal Youth Program provides the spiritual direction and education of teenagers, and provides a continuation from the Godly Play programs that are geared toward younger children.
At All Saints, the youth have decided to call themselves “The Upstarts,” seeing themselves as (according to a dictionary they consulted), “springing into view.”
Upstarts meet weekly before the 10:30 a.m. service, sometimes gathering for their own Service of the Word and “sermon conversation” before Communion, or sitting together during the first part of the worship.
At least monthly, special events or gatherings are planned that include service activities, a variety of outings, and always, the chance to “meet and eat.” |
